fr24news– Arsenal have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the loan of Martin Odegaard until the end of the season.
The Gunners were looking to sign a new creative midfielder this month after allowing Mesut Ozil to go for nothing.
Odegaard struggled for game time in Madrid despite a strong campaign on loan at Real Sociedad last season.
He asked to leave the club on loan this month and has had several suitors.
Arsenal did win the race for his signing, however, selon Fabrizio Romano.
Romano has revealed that the Gunners beat Sociedad and Ajax to sign him after Mikel Arteta called to convince him to move to the Emirates.
He then revealed that the clubs had come to an agreement for him to spend the rest of this season on loan in London.
There is no option to sign him permanently and Arsenal have agreed to pay his salary in full.
The Gunners have also agreed to pay loan fees of £ 2.5million and have already scheduled his medical examination.
Odegaard hasn’t shown so many of his talents this season, but if he can replicate his last season form at the Emirates, Arsenal could even make it into the top four.
