Jordan Veretouts agent has talked up a move to a big club this summer with Arsenal and Napoli battling it out for the Fiorentina midfielder.
Unai Emery – who has only been handed a transfer budget of around £40million – is on the hunt for Aaron Ramseys replacement and Veretout has been identified as a realistic and affordable option.
Despite an underwhelming spell with Aston Villa, Veretout is open to the idea of returning to the Premier League after two outstanding years in Italy with Fiorentina.
Arsenal have reportedly approached Fiorentina over a deal, but its understood Napoli are favourites to land the Frenchman ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
However, Veretouts agent, Mario Giuffredi, insists the Frenchmans future is yet to be decided amid an atmosphere of uncertainty at Fiorentina.
As far as I know, Fiorentina have not given the all-clear for Veretout to join Napoli, Giuffredi told Radio CRC.
The problem is they [Fiorentina] dont currently have a director of sport, so I dont know who to communicate with.
I also have no guarantees that Vincenzo Montella will remain as coach, its all up in the air after the clubs takeover [by Rocco Commisso].
Giuffredi claims that several clubs have registered an interest in Veretout this summer, a player who he believes is one of the best in Europe.
There are four or five important clubs who want Veretout, in Italy and abroad, he added.
I dont like to name names, but well see what happens and who steps forward to close the deal.
