Google Maps Street View: Man’s unfortunate position in back of pick-up truck spotted

express– Google Maps was originally developed as a digital tool to help users with directions. However, the dawn of its Street View function in 2007 allowed users to virtually travel around streets across the globe.

Along the way, many unexpected instances of daily life can be spotted.

One user was so taken aback by a moment they spotted it in Manitoba, Canada, they decided to share it in a Reddit forum.

One user was so taken aback by a moment they spotted it in Manitoba, Canada, they decided to share it in a Reddit forum.

The scene unfolds on what looks like a normal residential street.

Houses line the sides of the road, with cars and trucks parked out front.

However, there is a rather unexpected moment happening in one of the trucks.

Outside the front of a pale blue house sits a navy blue pick up truck.

Its driver is still in the front of the truck, wearing a blue shirt and dark sunglasses.

Meanwhile, a passenger appears to have already departed.

The passenger door is open and a woman wearing a khaki zip-up jacket appears to be leaning in to remove something.

A third person stands to her side, looking into the back of the truck.

All of this seems like nothing out of the ordinary.

That is, of course, until the viewer noticed what is going on in the back of the truck.

There in the cargo bed appears to be a man who is sound asleep.

He is fully-clothed, in blue jeans and a navy blue shirt.

While there may be all manner of reasons why he is back there, the user who posted the image to Reddit thinks they have it figured out. He is “passed out,” they say.

If he is unconscious – in the back of the truck, it is a rather unfortunate moment to have been snapped by the Google cameras.

Indeed, the way he is positioned, with a slither of his shirt riding up could suggest he is sleeping.

However, given there are three other people gathered around the truck, it could also be that they were simply trying to find a way of riding with one extra passenger.

Alas, we may never know the true story behind this rather baffling incident.

Due to its privacy policy, Google Maps Street View blurs all faces in images it takes

This means the identity of people in the map’s pictures can not be recognised.

According to Google’s current privacy policy: “Google takes a number of steps to protect the privacy of individuals when Street View imagery is published to Google Maps.

“We have developed cutting-edge face and license plate blurring technology that is designed to blur identifiable faces and license plates within Google-contributed imagery in Street View.

“If you see that your face or license plate requires additional blurring, or if you would like us to blur your entire house, car, or body, submit a request using the ‘Report a problem’ tool.”
