German tennis legend Boris Becker has told the right wing politician who called his son a ‘little half-negro’ that he must ‘face the consequences’ for his racist tweet.

Becker wrote in a column for the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag that the denial by Mr Maier was a common response from members of Germany’s AfD party.
He said: ‘That’s what the AfD always does; it’s their trick: put something out there in the world and then distance yourself from it.
He also praised his 23-year-old son Noah, who has filed a criminal complaint over the incident, for ‘fighting hatred with love’.
He said: ‘Noah said that those who don’t know the world, who haven’t seen people with different skin colours or people who think differently, become scared.
‘I have to admit he’s one step ahead of me – I want there to be consequences first.’
The AfD politician’s racist tweet came in response to Noah’s assertion Berlin was ‘more white’ than other European capitals and he had been attacked there because of his colour.
Maier tweeted: ‘It seems the little half-negro simply got too little attention – that’s the only explanation for his behaviour.’
Maier is the parliamentary deputy for the AfD party, which received won over 90 seats in last year’s election after clinching 13% of the vote.
Becker’s lawyer confirmed a criminal complaint had been filed.
